Just want to urge that you tell your mates about The Weekly so we can make sure that every Premier League player gets it in their inbox every week. If you know someone who doesn't have it then forward them the newsletter!

Spotlight: Charlie De Sousa (DUNBAR ROVERS)

Dunbar head coach, Charlie De Sousa talks to The Premier League Weekly.

Can you please tell us what you think of the ESFA Premier League competition?
The competition has definitely got stronger since it's inception four or five years ago. More teams are now far more competitive than they used to be and it's a strong league. I think we are moving forward to make Eastern Suburbs one of the strongest leagues in the State.

Your thoughts on your recruitment strategy for this season.
We have made a couple of key additions, adding to an already strong squad. We felt that we underachieved last season and the primary objective this season is to try to rectify that. We lost a few players from last season but as I said, we also recruited some good players so I am happy with my squad.

How do you feel about being top of the Premier League at this early point of the season?
We have had a good start and I am pretty happy with the preparation going into the competition but as we know, it's a long season. I am happy to be up there now but would rather be talking about it near the back end of the season rather than now.

Minute Silence on Dunbar Rovers Matches

Minute Silence on Dunbar Rovers Matches

There was a minute silence on all Dunbar Rovers matches last weekend to mark respect for Constable Ronan Kerr, who was killed in a bombing in Omagh, Ireland.

In a statement from Dunbar Rovers President, Quintin Freeman, the club asked that all Dunbar teams to pay their respects. All teams marked a minute silence prior to the kick off of their matches and players wore black armbands.

The Dunbar Premier League (pictured) marked their respect before their fixtures on Saturday afternoon, against Sydney University. The remaining Dunbar teams played on Sunday.

Constable Ronan Kerr was the brother of Dunbar Rovers AA5 player, Cathair Kerr, who was a popular member within his team.

The message from Quintin Freeman can be read on the club’s website.
